[:en]The MTS Exceed E21 Series Impact Pendulum is the ideal impact testing system for plastics providing highly reliable testing capabilities for QA/QC environments and high force tests. It obtains an exact, highly reliable and stable impact test for non-metallic materials. It is designed for accurate and repeatable impact testing of plastics, nylon, hard rubber, and other non-metallic samples.
Pendulum Impact Test Systems offer reliable, cost-effective performance for a wide range of tests. This system can perform tests, according to all common test standards, including ISO and ASTM. And it is equipped for easy to operate and control procedure. This framework allows Charpy, Izod, and tensile impact tests to be performed on multiple specimens accurately and efficiently.
Charpy and Izod test
Specifically, the Charpy test employs the Charpy pendulum and is used to determine the toughness of a material. They are impact tests of a notched specimen and tested in bending at three points. The pendulum falls on the back of the specimen and fractures. The difference between the h1 and the h2 after the impact makes it possible to measure the energy absorbed.
The Izod test, for its part, is a destructive test that uses the Charpy pendulum. It is used to test the toughness of a material and its resistance, frequently in plastic materials.
The high quality cast iron base, combined with four large diameter leveling feet, offers high rigidity and vibration damping for more precise results.[:]
